ICLASS-2009 is the 11th International Conference on Liquid Atomization and Spray Systems. ILASS-International is the umbrella organization for the American, European and Asian regional sections. Every three years the entire international community convenes to share information, lessons and technical advances. ILASS-2009 will continue this tradition by providing a venue for industrialists, researchers, academics ands students to engage in the scientific development and practice of atomization to meet and share recent developments in the field.
All aspects of atomization and spray processes will be covered, including, but not limited to:
- Measurement instrumentation and diagnostic equipment development
related to sprays for drop size, drop velocity and impact, drop concentration,
patternation, film thickness, vapor concentration, etc.
- Computational modeling, fundamental analysis and simulation
of flow phenomena inside and outside of atomizers
- Experimental design, operation, and performance of liquid (and metal) atomizers and spray systems.
- Application areas
- Rocket, turbine, and all other combustion engines
- Food processing, agricultural and environmental (including reactors, spray dryers, humidifiers, coating etc)
- Medical, therapeutic and biological sprays
- Liquid and powder metallurgy
- Fire suppressions, security and safety
The ICLASS will include:
- Tutorial sessions representing a discussion of topics of broad interest to the spray community
- Technical sessions at which state-of-the-art research and methods are presented.
- Manufacturer's exhibits showing the latest instrumentation and hardware in the field.
- Technical committee meetings enabling participants to engage
in specific topical discussions in areas of personal interest.
- Banquet

The tradition of ICLASS banquet venues will be continued. In 2009
it will be held just North West of Vail on a working cattle farm.
The farm was one of the first working ranches in Colorado and is
now owned by the State to preserve heritage. The original settler
was the first female university graduate in Colorado with a major
in Physics. Buses will take us the 15 minutes from the hotel to the
ranch where we will experience a traditional western cook out complete
with hay rides, buffalo, cows, gun fights, roping, dancing and camp
fires. If you don’t own a good cowboy hat the ranch will be
happy to outfit you with one.
