Transportation
When traveling to Vail we suggest you make your flight arrangements into Denver International Airport (DIA). Numerous choices for air travel exist to and from DIA. Denver is an airline hub for United and Frontier airlines, but this large facility is serviced by all major US airlines. Some direct international travel exists on Air Canada, British Airways and Lufthansa as well as Mexicana.

You will be required to travel by ground from DIA to Vail as it is located approximately 1.5 hours from Denver at an elevation of 8,150 ft / 2484 m. Several options are available: rental car, mountain transporters and shuttle services. Please note there is a fee for parking your rental car at the hotel. The resort has an existing agreement with Colorado Mountain Express (www.cmex.com) to transport hotel guests to the resort at very reasonable prices. These reservations can be made at the same time the rooms are booked.

Weather
Climate in the Rocky Mountains at this time is perfect. A typical day in July will see temperatures around 75 F or 24 C. Rain is anticipated but it is associated with an monsoon flow from the sea of Cortez thus is predictable to occur between 3 and 4 pm or over night when the temperatures drop. As with all high altitude venues dehydration and sun burn are of primary concern. Please while in Vail drink lots of water and wear plenty of sun screen.

Things to do
We would recommend that the participants get out and experience what Vail has to offer in the afternoons and evenings. Vail Village, accessible by a nice walk along a creek, offer a tremendous variety of dining and shopping opportunities. Lions Head, where the hotel is locate, has its own share of dining and shopping opportunities. Finally ride the gondola to the top of the mountain for a refreshing meal.

Daily adventures are available right in town. Golfing, hiking and mountain biking are the three most popular. All are offered at reasonable prices and can be booked through the resort. Depending on interest we might even try the first ever ICLASS golf tournament on Sunday morning.

Colorado has tons to offer so don’t limit yourself to the in town adventures. These are all made for the inexperienced to the experts in the crowd. Try white water rafting, fly fishing and even horseback riding. Each of these excursions can be booked as half day to full day adventures and are located with in minutes of the resort. Check with the hotel for more details and booking help.

You might even be brave enough to wander through the more inaccessible wilderness using all terrain vehicles. Again these are offered in half and full day packages. Finally, the US Rocky Mountain National Park is near by. Although this is a full day adventure (likely even more) I will guarantee you see sheep, deer and elk. Moose, pika, coyote and beaver are very common too.
