All aspects of atomization and spray processes will be covered, including, but not limited to:
- Measurement instrumentation and diagnostic equipment development related to sprays for drop size, drop velocity and impact, drop concentration, patternation, film thickness, vapor concentration, etc.
- Computational modeling, fundamental analysis and simulation of flow phenomena inside and outside of atomizers
- Experimental design, operation, and performance of liquid (and metal) atomizers and spray systems.
- Application areas:
- Rocket, turbine, and all other combustion engines
- Spray systems as they relate to advanced energy conversion devices and processes
- Food processing, agricultural and environmental (including reactors, spray dryers, humidifiers, coatings, etc)
- Medical, therapeutic and biological sprays
- Liquid and powder metallurgy - Fire suppression, security and safety
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit an approximately 500-word abstract that contains specific information on objectives, methods, results, and conclusions by 14 December 2009. These abstracts will be screened to ensure match of content to the program.
Full papers will be due in the prescribed PDF format on 15 March 2010. In addition to distribution of the papers using a conference proceedings CD, all papers will be posted on the ILASS-Americas website for future reference.
- Additional information on full paper format and submission procedures coming soon!
Paper submissions and presentations will also be evaluated for ILASS-Americas’ Marshall and Simmons Awards.
Marshall Award: This is an annual ILASS-Americas award for the best contributed paper from North or South America.
Simmons Award: This is an annual ILASS-Americas award for the best student presentation of a paper from North or South America.
